It's been a quiet time

With the World Cup on, I must admit, the head has been turned from the diaries of late. My apologies for that. I also have to confess that, with a young son up during the night, my exploits on the grappa front have been sorely limited. It's just temporary, you have my word on that, but in the meantime I shall endeavour to keep things ticking over with tales of watching other people getting boozed up. Sob sob...

Perhaps you should pay that charming young Irish lad to go out to some more Edinburgh restaurants and do some more reviews?

Pay him? Pay him? Pay him off, more like...

*speculates about the advisability of grappa/small child interface*

Ginkers, I gave my Dad the grappa book that you recommended and he loved it. Hopefully it'll get him to try a few different ones. They've started to sell Blo Nardini in Waitrose now but it costs 'un occhio della testa'.

It's a common problem. People seem to think because they import something they can quadruple the price. That's why I always sacrifice as many clothes as I can to pack grappa into my case on the way back from Italy. Then clink through customs.

Well, a good excuse to indulge this evening, surely...? Though how Inzaghi ended with just one goal, not three, is a bit of a mystery...

Italy-Brazil would have been excellent, but Italy-Oz could still be interesting (not to tempt fate or anything, an hour in advance...)
If only Vieri had made the squad...

The Aussie hurdle has been overcome, now onwards to the Ukraine and the turncoat Sheva!
